From the energy powering our data centres to the hardware running your services, here is how we are making it happen.
Renewable Since Day One
Our own data centres have run on 100% renewable electricity for many years. For us, clean energy has always been a fundamental part of how we operate, not a recent commitment.
98.9% Recycled, Reused or Recovered
In 2025, 98.9% of the 503.4 tonnes of waste generated across our data centres was recycled, reused or recovered. 100% of our IT hardware was recycled or reused, with only a small remainder of general non-recyclable waste reaching landfill.
Certified by Experts
Our energy and environmental management systems covering 100% of our data centres are independently certified by external auditors, ensuring our sustainability is verified and not just self reported.

Low-Carbon Hosting
Our data centres run on 100% renewable electricity and have done for many years. Six of our nine own data centres also use biofuels, meaning 99.8% of all energy used across our infrastructure came from renewable sources in 2025.
Water Efficiency
Water is a resource we take seriously. By avoiding water intensive cooling systems, our Water Usage Effectiveness score sits 99% below the industry average, keeping our infrastructure future proof.
Beyond our Data Centres
Our sustainability commitments extend to our offices around the world. We are targeting 100% renewable electricity across all our office locations by 2030, with 83% already achieved. We are also transitioning our entire company car fleet to electric vehicles, with 23.9% already making the switch.
Renewable Energy Without the Grid
Three of our nine own data centres generate their own solar energy on site. In 2025, we produced 2.8 GWh of renewable electricity ourselves, enough to power around 700 homes for a year.
Responsible Waste Management
We always look to extend the lifespan of our servers first, before reuse and recycling. In 2025, we recycled and reused 100% of all data centre IT hardware waste, working with specialist green IT partners.
Other Sustainable Initiatives:
Efficient Server Design
We have introduced compact, modular blade servers across five of our data centres globally. Their smaller footprint means more processing power in less space, lower cooling requirements, and simpler maintenance. Components can be replaced, upgraded, and refurbished with ease, extending the life of our hardware and reducing waste in the process.
Renewable Energy meets Agriculture
Our solar installation at our data centre in Niederlauterbach, France is more than just a renewable energy project. In partnership with a local sheep farmer, the land is purpose designed for dual use, generating clean energy above while providing grazing pasture below. The solar panels provide natural shade, reducing water consumption and the need for chemicals, while supporting soil quality and local biodiversity.
